Cable & Telecom Regulatory Partner (Albany or Other NYS Office)

Barclay Damon LLP, a leading law firm of nearly 300 attorneys that operates from a strategic platform of offices located in the Northeastern United States and Toronto, is seeking a cable, telecommunications, and broadband regulatory partner with at least 15 years of experience for any of the firm’s NYS offices, preferably Albany.

Prior experience must include extensive knowledge of the cable, telecommunications, and broadband industries and NYS cable, telecommunications, and broadband law and regulations. Candidates should have extensive experience handling matters before the New York Public Service Commission, including matters involving the Public Service Law, Freedom of Information Law (FOIL), Public Officers Law, pole attachment matters, service quality and rate regulation, discovery protocols, the interplay between state and federal laws and regulations, state regulatory requirements for mergers and other corporate transactions, and emergency preparedness as well as routine regulatory filings. Also required is a deep familiarity with the inner workings of and administrative procedures relevant to the New York Department of Public Service.

A candidate steeped in New York Public Service Commission practice not related to cable, telecommunications, and broadband would be considered if the candidate is willing and has the aptitude to expand their knowledge base in these areas. Prior government experience or work involving legislative interpretation or drafting is highly valued. A book of transportable regulatory clients is a plus but not required.
