Trusts & Estates Attorney (Buffalo)

Barclay Damon LLP, a leading regional law firm of nearly 300 attorneys that operates from a strategic platform of offices located in the Northeastern United States and Toronto, is seeking an attorney for its Trusts & Estates Practice Area.

The attorney will support a robust trusts and estates practice and will advise clients on trusts and estates issues; perform transactional work, including preparing and drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other documents; administer trusts and estates, including assisting with accounting and tax returns; and perform related research and due diligence. In addition to transactional work, the attorney will support an active trusts and estates litigation practice, including handling court appearances and preparing court filings. The attorney will also be responsible for maintaining client relationships and working with various other attorneys and paralegals across the firm’s platform.

Strong communication and writing skills and work ethic are required. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of progressively responsible experience in trusts and estates practice and will be able to demonstrate their development of knowledge and experience in this area of law. Consideration will be given to a candidate with at least two years of progressively responsible commercial litigation experience who has an interest in transitioning to trust and estate controversies and non-contested matters.
