Energy Real Property Tax Litigator Mark Lansing Rejoins Barclay Damon

Barclay Damon announces Mark Lansing, of counsel, has rejoined the firm in the Property Tax & Condemnation, Energy, and Project Development Practice Areas. His primary office location is Washington DC.

Lansing has over 30 years of experience representing clients in property tax assessment, valuation and condemnation matters, transactions, and controversies. He has energy and utility clients across the country as well as technology, commercial, and manufacturing clients. He assists clients in managing state and local property taxes, in the valuation of complex property in property tax assessment challenges and condemnation litigation, and in state and federal eminent domain proceedings. Lansing has represented energy clients in several states, including New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Virginia.

Lansing rejoins the firm after spending several years as a sole practitioner as well as serving as a member with Dickinson Wright PLLC. In his previous roles, Lansing achieved significant property tax savings through litigation, negotiations, and the use of long-term tax agreements.

Lansing said, “It’s a pleasure to be back at Barclay Damon. The firm’s continued growth in the energy space drew me in. Their energy client base and practice is expansive and national in scope. I knew the talented attorneys in the firm’s Regulatory Practice Group would be hugely beneficial to my clients. Their extensive knowledge is impressive, and I’m looking forward to getting to know them and their individual practices to make the most of working together.”

Brenda Colella, Regulatory Practice Group leader, said, “Our Regulatory Practice Group keeps growing. Mark’s background in real property tax issues and eminent domain for energy industry clients complements the already strong group of attorneys in our Property Tax & Condemnation and Project Development Practice Areas within the Regulatory Practice Group. Our attorneys have built an excellent reputation for successfully negotiating and litigating real property tax matters across the country, and we are so pleased to have Mark, with his substantial knowledge and multi-state experience, rejoin the group.”
