Overview

Biography

Anneliese primarily concentrates her practice on commercial litigation and bankruptcy matters, with extensive experience drafting memoranda, conducting legal research, and assisting in litigation. She has counseled clients through the preparation of complaints, responses to discovery demands, and settlement agreements, and has also litigated in local and state courts across Central New York. Additionally, Anneliese routinely assists with bankruptcy litigation by preparing responses to claim objections and negotiating on behalf of clients.

Anneliese also provides a wide array of services to local governments across Upstate New York, assisting in the defense of Real Property Tax Law Article 7 proceedings, drafting local laws and resolutions, and providing local code enforcement support. She also performs legal research and counsels clients to support local governments in their day-to-day operations.

Anneliese additionally assists local businesses in applying for and appealing the denial of NYS Minority and Women-Owned Business certifications.

Experience

Representative Experience

  • Represented a local pest-control company in a dispute regarding payment for professional services and obtained the full payment of outstanding invoices for the company.
  • Represented a municipality in a code-enforcement proceeding and recovered the payment of overdue fines.
  • Represented a local business in an eviction matter and obtained a warrant of eviction and judgment for all outstanding rent owed.
  • Represented a fashion manufacturer in a partnership dissolution arbitration against a former design-related business partner, obtaining a $350,000 judgment. The matter also included litigation surrounding a breach of contract for violating a noncompetition clause, breach of fiduciary duty, and piercing the corporate veil claims, which have not yet been finally determined by the court, but withstood the test of an early motion to dismiss.
  • Represents siblings in breach of fiduciary duty litigation stemming from the co-trustee siblings' misuse of family assets for over two decades.
  • Represents an out-of-state business in staying the enforcement of judgment and ultimately vacating the entry of judgment on grounds of breach of contract and improper business practices after the merchant advance lender improperly entered the judgment by confessing against an out-of-state defendant.
