As a former Pitney Bowes patent agent and former United Technologies Sikorsky Aircraft (now Lockheed Martin) director of intellectual property and licensing, Brian has prepared, filed, and prosecuted over 1,000 patent applications. He has also prepared a similar number of amendments, responses, and appeal briefs before the US States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Brian principally concentrates his practice on matters in the high-technology mechanical, manufacturing, physics, aerospace, mobile device, and telecommunications industries.
Brian has created extensive patent portfolios for a wide variety of technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI); airfoils; antennas; avionics; cellular telecommunications; business methods; coaxial cables; cockpit and navigation systems; composites manufacturing; cryptology; DNA analysis; e- commerce; fiber optics; flight controls; food packaging; fuel controls; helmet-mounted displays; IR suppression; low observables (stealth); LED lighting; mail-piece wrappers and inserters; motorized vehicles (wheelchairs); printers; radio-frequency identification (RFID) systems; rotors; sequence sorters; transmissions; vision systems; and xerography.
