With over 30 years of legal experience, Dennis primarily concentrates his practice on representing clients in major complex litigation involving professional and products liability. He draws on his experience serving as national and regional counsel for two major companies.

Dennis serves as an expert witness in cases involving trial practice, ethics, and lawyer liability. In addition to his own practice, he serves as the firm's deputy ethics partner and a member of the Intake/Conflicts Committee. Outside Barclay Damon, Dennis is a University at Buffalo School of Law adjunct.

Representative Experience

  • Represented a major NY-based law firm against allegations of legal malpractice in the prosecution of an international patent application.
  • Represented the seller of an allegedly defective ATV in litigation seeking damages for rendering the plainitffs a quadriplegic. This case was ultimately argued before the NY Court of Appeals.
  • Represented six NY law firms in action by the NY Attorney General against a total of 35 law firms seeking to vacate tens of thousands of default judgments entered against various consumers with a cumulative value of over $1 billion.
  • Represented a relator in a False Claims Act against a guidant corporation venued in the District of Minnesota. After three years of litigation, the matter was settled in 2013 for $30 million.
  • Obtained a favorable settlement for a client sued in Florida in a complex accounting malpractice case arising from criminal fraud perpetrated by the CEO of a national telecommunications company.
