Biography

Genevieve uses her PhD in chemistry to advocate for clients who are seeking or leveraging patents for pharmaceutical and agricultural formulations, chemical compounds, synthetic and electrochemical processes, materials with applications in a variety of engineering and scientific disciplines, and microfluidic devices—all of which she has handled. Genevieve provides actionable business and legal advice based on patentability, freedom to operate, and infringement analyses.

Genevieve has worked with clients to protect their patent, trademark, and trade secret rights in matters before federal courts, state courts, and the US Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Genevieve has also helped clients protect and monetize their technologies in licensing agreements and contracts. She is experienced in conducting trademark availability searches and registering trademarks with the USPTO.

Representative Experience

  • Drafted a motion to amend, which was the sixth to be granted in inter partes review.
  • Defended and favorably settled a trademark opposition before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
  • Obtained a default judgment, including an award of attorneys’ fees, in a federal trademark infringement case.
  • Successfully prosecuted patents in a wide variety of chemical and mechanical fields.
  • Successfully registered trademarks and service marks.
