Property Tax Coordinator (Syracuse)

Barclay Damon LLP, a leading regional law firm of approximately 300 attorneys that operates from a strategic platform of offices located in Albany, Boston, Buffalo, New Haven, New York City, Rochester, Syracuse, Washington DC, and Toronto, is seeking a full-time property tax coordinator. This position is part of the Compliance Team and will assist with client relationship management. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to tracking filing dates, tax payment dates, and appeal deadlines, including preparing and updating spreadsheets for tracking properties, taxes due, and assessments; assisting with coordination and communication with assessors’ offices and tax collection offices to resolve account issues and other communication; and assisting with preparation of performance workbooks for the Excelsior tax credit program.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication as needed to address various audiences, such as attorneys, firm management, and administrative directors. 
  •  Minimum two years of administrative support in a professional services business, preferably with financial, accounting, or bookkeeping tasks.
  • Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Kofax PDF, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work in highly confidential environment.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines. 
  • Highly organized and ability to multitask with great recall skills. 
  • Ability to work independently yet know when to ask questions or for guidance.

A hybrid work schedule may be possible after an in-office introductory period.

Salary Range: $45,000 to $55,000.

This salary range represents the firm’s good-faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for the position and does not include performance- or merit-based bonuses or other benefits offered by the firm. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s years of experience, qualifications, skill set, and office location.
