Bill Braunlin Featured in Managing Intellectual Property Magazine Article About Joining Barclay Damon

Bill Braunlin, special counsel, was featured in the Managing Intellectual Property Magazine article “Realising Dreams: New Hire Eyes Start-Up Work at Barclay Damon.” The article highlights Bill joining Barclay Damon as special counsel in the firm’s Patents & Prosecution Practice Area in Boston.

Formerly with an intellectual property law firm in Boston, Bill was drawn to Barclay Damon because of its strong focus on clients, extensive industry experience, and commitment to working with start-ups and universities in technical fields. “[Barclay Damon has] a significant amount of industry experience. They understand where the client is coming from because they’ve been in the client’s shoes. That was a strong selling point to me,” said Bill.

Bill’s diverse background includes roles as a chief scientific officer for start-ups, a professor at Rutgers University, and a patent agent since 2017 before qualifying as a lawyer in 2023. He expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with passionate innovators in the chemical and biochemical sectors, emphasizing the fulfillment he finds in helping start-ups and universities realize their visions. Bill said, “The big companies have a lot of money and do good work. But there’s something about having that passion that the people at the start-ups and universities have. It’s really gratifying to work with those people.”
