Connie Cahill Featured in Law360 Pulse Article on Law Firms With Women Leaders

Connie Cahill, managing partner, was featured in the Law360 Pulse article “New CIO Creates All-Female C-Suite at Patterson Belknap” about women in leadership positions at law firms. The article said:

“Across the industry, at least six large law firms and 16  midsize and small firms appointed women to top, firmwide leadership roles for the first time ever in 2020. The appointments of female leaders have continued into the new year.”

“Examples include Arnold & Porter electing San Francisco-based partner Ellen Kaye Fleishhacker to a two-year term as a co-managing partner, Barclay Damon LLP naming Albany, New York-based partner Connie Cahill as its first female managing partner, and Kristina Lawson officially taking the reins at California firm Hanson Bridgett LLP, all in January alone.”

The article also explains that there is room for improvement of gender equality in the legal industry. “According to Law360’s Glass Ceiling report in October, women represented around 25 percent of law firm partners, 22 percent of equity partners, and 28 percent of firms’ executive committees. Another recent Glass Ceiling report found that 12 percent of firms’ highest leadership roles were held by women.”
