Corey Auerbach Quoted in Buffalo News and Other Outlets

Corey Auerbach, partner, was quoted in the Buffalo News article “Council Grills Towing Company on Booting in Parking Lots” after appearing in the Buffalo Common Council Chambers on July 16 to speak on behalf of Lightning Towing & Services regarding predatory booting allegations.

According to the article, Lightning Towing charges approximately $98 for placing boots and removing them, with Auerbach noting the local law does not restrict towing companies from charging more than $75 for booting operations on private lots. The Council, however, argued that $75 is the maximum in licensed parking lots.

"It's not illegal what Lightning Towing is doing," Auerbach said. "There is no law that regulates the immobilization of vehicles on private property lots in the City of Buffalo."
