Jeff Davis and Kevin McAuliffe, co-leaders of the Semiconductor Team, were featured in the Daily Record article “Barclay Damon Launches Semiconductor Legal Team.” The article
emphasized that Barclay Damon attorneys have been doing this work for nearly two decades and has been extensively involved in New York State’s chip fab projects.
“Formalizing the team allows us to build on this foundation and continue to deliver outstanding service as the industry accelerates its investment in U.S.-based manufacturing,” Jeff said.
The article outlined major developments in New York’s semiconductor corridor, officially known as the NY SMART I-Corridor, which has already seen $121 billion in investment and over 100 companies established. The region, one of 12 federally designated technology hubs, is expecting massive growth through projects like Micron’s planned facility in Onondaga County, projected to create 9,000 jobs with up to 50,000 additional support roles. Barclay Damon is currently advising the Onondaga County Industrial Development Agency on that project.
By consolidating its existing capabilities into a dedicated semiconductor team, Barclay Damon aims to better support developers, manufacturers, and public agencies navigating New York’s stringent regulatory landscape. “Whether we’re talking about chemical bulk storage compliance in New York, State Environmental Quality Review Act, things of that nature, and how it is that we help our clients through them, if we don’t navigate those roots properly projects just remain an idea and don’t become a reality,” Kevin said.
