Larry Rabinovich Published in In Transit

Larry Rabinovich, Transportation Team leader, wrote “How Do General Liability Policies and Auto Liability Policies Interact” for In Transit, DRI’s newsletter. The article explores a matter that raises questions regarding the line between coverage provided by a general liability policy and coverage provided by an auto liability policy. The article states:

“Some courts formulate the rule as follows—in order for the loss to fall within the auto policy it must arise from the use of the auto as an auto. This language has been adopted into certain coverages.”

“The case demonstrates, in any event, that the line between auto coverage and GL coverage, clear enough in certain contexts, can be very murky indeed.”
