Linda Clark Quoted in McKnight's Home Care Daily Pulse Article on Decision to Reduce Number of CDPAP Agencies

Linda Clark, Health Care Controversies Team leader, who represents New York Advocates for Home Care (NYAHC), was quoted in the McKnight’s Home Care Daily Pulse article “State Slashes Support for Medicaid Family Caregiver Program” about the New York State’s decision earlier this year to reduce the number of home care agencies participating in the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP).

Linda said, “It is a critical program because it allows people who would otherwise end up in a long-term care setting at a much, much higher expense to be taken care of in their own homes.”

The state previously allowed up to 400 agencies to act as financial intermediaries in CDPAP. However, it approved only 70 agencies earlier this year.

The article states, “Clark said fewer agencies administering the program could put many of the nearly 140,000 New York seniors and disabled who depend on the program at risk when changes to the program happen later this year.”
