Rob Thorpe Quoted in MJBizDaily Article on ADA Compliance for Cannabis Websites

Rob Thorpe, partner, was quoted in the MJBizDaily article “ADA Compliance Experts Offer Tips to Make Cannabis Websites Accessible” about how cannabis businesses’ websites can comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). 

Not all states enforce ADA compliance for websites; however, it’s generally advisable that all businesses, regardless of whether they’re in the cannabis space, ensure their websites comply with the ADA to avoid accessibility lawsuits. 

In circumstances where businesses have an accessibility lawsuit filed against them, they should first ensure the issue is resolved. Most companies choose to settle, and, Rob said, “The problem with that is the more settlements an attorney gets, the more inclined they are to pursue these lawsuits. You’re fueling the fire when you settle.”
