Tim Green Honored With Syracuse University Chancellor's Medal

Tim Green, attorney and of counsel to the firm, was recently awarded the Syracuse University Chancellor’s Medal, one of the university’s most prestigious honors. The award recognizes “individuals whose success and philanthropic contributions have had a significant impact on society and the university.”

A former Syracuse University football All-American, former NFL defensive end, former Fox Sports broadcaster, and New York Times-bestselling author, Green is well known for his community leadership and promotion of youth literacy, tallying over 1,500 school visits across the nation to emphasize the importance of reading in school success and character building. All of Tim’s speaking fees are used to buy books for underprivileged kids, libraries, and schools.

Additionally, in November 2018, Green and his family launched their new not-for-profit website, Tackle ALS, following Green’s announcement of his ALS diagnosis. In partnership with the Healey Center for ALS at Massachusetts General Hospital, Tackle ALS uses funds to support innovative ALS-treatment trials and to increase access to effective treatments for people living with ALS. The organization has already raised over $2.6 million for ALS research, with Barclay Damon attorneys and staff contributing nearly $150,000 in support of Green.
