Barclay Damon Announces 2024 Partner Elevations

Barclay Damon is pleased to announce two elevations to the law firm’s partnership. Scott Fleischer and Tom Paul, both formerly counsel, have become partners, effective January 1.

Fleischer is a member of the Restructuring, Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights and Commercial Litigation Practice Areas and the Hotels, Hospitality & Food Service Team. He focuses his practice on representing landlords in retail bankruptcy and lease default matters. Fleischer’s experience also includes representing creditors’ committees, debtors and debtor affiliates, individual creditors, Chapter 7 trustees, and other constituents in complex bankruptcy matters. In addition to his bankruptcy practice, Fleischer handles commercial litigation matters, such as helping landlords pursue evictions and recoveries from their tenants.

Paul is a member of the Environmental, Energy, and Regulatory Practice Areas. He is also a member of the firm’s Outdoor & Wildlife, Renewable Energy, and Oil & Gas Teams. Paul routinely advises energy and other project developers, investors, and other clients on environmental permitting and transactional due diligence to identify and manage environmental risks, including evaluating compliance, drafting purchase agreements, and negotiating with governmental agencies and private parties. He regularly performs due diligence reviews for wind, solar, and hydro generation asset portfolios and advises clients about the Office of Renewable Energy Siting (ORES) and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s (NYSDEC) wetland and wildlife requirements.

Connie Cahill, Barclay Damon’s managing partner, said, “We extend our sincerest congratulations to Scott and Tom on their well-deserved elevation to the firm’s partnership. Their professional accomplishments over the last year were significant, and they’ve both proven to be adept leaders in their respective legal practices and throughout the firm as a whole. I look forward to seeing how their practices grow and their relationships with their colleagues and clients deepen and evolve.”
