Courtney M. Merriman Elected Partner at Barclay Damon

SYRACUSE, NY "” January 6, 2016 "” Barclay Damon, LLP announces the election of Courtney M. Merriman to partner.

Ms. Merriman is resident in the firm's Syracuse office and is a member of the Real Estate and Financial Institutions & Lending practice areas, focusing her practice on negotiating and handling complex real estate acquisition and sale transactions, and financings on behalf of clients ranging from multi national real estate developers and nationally known public and privately held companies, to small businesses and individuals.

Ms. Merriman has an extensive background representing parties in commercial lease negotiations for retail, office, manufacturing, and shopping center transactions, as well as real estate development ground lease transactions. Ms. Merriman provides guidance on land use matters and establishing environmental easements and deed restrictions when representing clients in the energy industry. She also has experience in representing lenders in sophisticated financial transactions.

Ms. Merriman is a member of the firm's innovative and very engaged Women's Forum, which fosters interaction and mentoring opportunities to assist our women attorneys in developing successful strategies regarding leadership development, client development and professional development.

Ms. Merriman received a B.A., magna cum laude from Le Moyne College and her J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University.
