Hiscock & Barclay Energy Practice Again Earns Chambers USA Ranking

Syracuse, New York - May 29, 2014 - Chambers USA America's Leading Lawyers for Business has again ranked Hiscock & Barclay's Energy practice among the top practices in New York. In Chambers 2014 edition the firm received recognition as a leader in "Energy: State Regulatory & Wholesale Electric Market: New York."

"[Hiscock & Barclay, LLP] maintains its reputation as a key player in the energy regulatory market," Chambers said in the just-released publication, "frequently appearing before the PSC and advocating for policy developments on behalf of clients."

Chambers bases its selections on a firm's body of work and in-depth interviews with clients. In announcing the ranking, Chambers shared a quote from a Hiscock & Barclay client: "They had in-depth knowledge of the areas we were facing and on multiple occasions were able to push beyond the traditional norms to achieve new levels of service for us."

"New levels of service are what we strive for every day," said John P. Langan, Hiscock & Barclay's Managing Partner. "It is gratifying to have clients and Chambers recognize that."

For the third straight year, Chambers also noted the firm's regulatory capabilities and singled out Partners Maureen O. Helmer, former Chair of NY Public Service Commission, and George M. Pond, for their success and the high regard in which they are held by clients for their work in energy and regulatory matters.

"We are honored again to be recognized for our work for the energy industry in New York. The ranking underlines our commitment to serving our clients in the field and the industry's high regard for our attorneys," said Richard R. Capozza, chair of Hiscock & Barclay's Energy Practice Area.

Hiscock & Barclay, LLP, listed as a "Top 250 Firm" by The National Law Journal, is a full-service, 210-attorney law firm, with offices throughout the major cities of New York State, as well as in Boston, Newark, N.J., Washington, D.C. and Toronto, providing comprehensive legal and business counsel to a diverse client base in 30 practice areas.
