Hiscock & Barclay's Rich Paul Speaks at Two Business Training Associations on the Legal Issues Conducting Business Overseas

Hiscock & Barclay, LLP attorney Richard J. Paul participated in a panel discussion on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act on May 24 at 3:45 p.m. at the Sheraton Syracuse University as part of the International Trade Panel for the Small Business Development Center's Staff Conference and Training seminar "Removing the Obstacles to Exporting." On May 25 at 11:30 a.m. at The Inn on Broadway in Rochester, Paul will speak on "The Legal Issues in Doing Business Overseas" to members of the International Resource Group Inc.

The Small Business Development Center, located at Onondaga Community College, is one of 25 offices statewide that provides free counseling to start up and existing businesses. As part of his presentation on May 25, Paul will address the key differences in doing business overseas and the unique challenges buyers or sellers may face as they are subject to laws and regulations that are different than those that apply to domestic business. The presentation will also help avoid common misunderstandings and problems that could impact businesses.
