John Sindoni Named 2015 Distinguished Lawyer Of The Year By Onondaga County Bar Association

SYRACUSE, NY "” October 26, 2015 "” John P. Sindoni, a partner at Barclay Damon, LLP, has been named the 2015 Distinguished Lawyer of the Year by the Onondaga County Bar Association in recognition of a lifetime of practice in the bar's highest traditions.

Sindoni joined Barclay Damon, LLP, formerly Hiscock & Barclay, LLP, following graduation from the College of Holy Cross and Cornell Law School in 1971 and has practiced in the firm's real estate group for the past 44 years. He has held leadership positions within the firm throughout his career, including serving on the firm's management committee and chairing the firm's real estate practice area for over 20 years. Sindoni has generously shared his knowledge and skills with various civic and charitable boards and committees in the community including, for example, serving as board member or chair for Catholic Charities, Christian Brothers Academy, the Onondaga Community College Board of Trustees, the College of Holy Cross, Franciscans in Collaborative Ministries, Christopher Community, the Eldercare Foundation, the Samaritan Center and OnPoint for College.

The Onondaga County Bar Association has been honoring a local lawyer for distinguished service to the profession since 1968. The Distinguished Lawyer Committee reviews written nominations, and recommends a candidate to the Board of Directors for its approval. In order to qualify, a lawyer must "have devoted a full-time professional career to the law, possess exceptional lawyering skills, display a devotion or dedication to the profession as evidenced by involvement or participation in projects or activities, reflecting an unselfish donation of time to the betterment of the profession; and possess ethics beyond reproach."
