Michael Brower of Mosaic Federal Affairs to Speak at Bio-Energy Conference in China

Syracuse, New York - April 26, 2013 - Michael Brower, Principal at Mosaic Federal Affairs in Syracuse, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hiscock & Barclay, LLP, will speak at the Third Annual World Congress on Bio-Energy in Nanjing, China and chair a session.

The World Congress on Bio-Energy will include speakers from Europe, Canada, China and the United States. The three-day conference will cover everything from biodiesel and bioalcohols to algae biofuels and biomass feedback.

Brower will chair a session April 27 on Bioenergy Policies Worldwide. As part of that session he will address the topic: "What Happens to Global Renewable Energy if the United States Doesn't Participate?"

Brower, a former Naval officer and aviator who flew 43 carrier-based sorties during the first Iraqi War and served three secretaries of the Navy as Special Assistant for Air Warfare, has been with Mosaic since its founding in 2006. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Council on Renewable Energy.

"Renewable resources will account for about half the new electricity capacity installed worldwide during the next five years," Brower said before leaving for China. "New clean-energy projects will generate $1.9 trillion in revenue worldwide through 2018, with about $269 billion in the United States."

"However, the lack of a comprehensive U.S. policy aimed at promoting renewable energy and the on-again, off-again nature of U.S. polices makes things more difficult for U.S. renewable energy companies with global effects."

Mosaic Federal Affairs represents clients regarding water quality, defense and energy policy, including federal tax policies.
