Tim Green Releases 38th Book, The Big Game, Available Now

August 21, 2018—Tim Green, a New York Times-bestselling author, former NFL defensive end, former Fox Sports broadcaster, and attorney with Barclay Damon LLP, has published his 38th book, The Big Game, available in stores and online now.

The book follows seventh-grade football star Danny Owens, the son of a deceased Super Bowl champion, as he tries to live up to his father's legacy and earn a spot on the high school varsity team. Danny's plans go awry, however, when his English teacher catches him cheating on a test, forcing him to reveal that he can't read. With his participation in the upcoming championship game contingent on passing his English class, Danny must deal with mounting pressure and decide on the best path for his future.

In addition to being a bestselling author and retired defensive end with the Atlanta Falcons, Green is an attorney with Barclay Damon, where he has been integrally involved for the past 20 years in the development and growth of the firm's client base, particularly in energy, intellectual property, and national insurance coverage litigation. Green is recognized as a lead point of contact for the firm's largest energy and utility clients, including numerous Fortune 500 companies.

"It is great to see Tim bring the same kind of dedication and passion he shows in serving our legal clients to his work as an author and advocate for adolescent literacy," John Langan, the firm's managing partner, said. "We are proud of his community leadership and excited to see him succeed in his continuing literary endeavors."

Green believes reading should be fun for kids. He emphasizes the importance of education, reading books, and good character, telling students that reading is "weightlifting for your brain." Since he began his career writing for children in 2007, Green's young-reader series has sold over 1 million copies. All of Green's speaking fees are used to buy books for underprivileged children, libraries, and schools.

Green's 39th book, Baseball Genius: Grand Slam, will be released in spring 2020. It will be the third book in the trilogy Green is co-authoring with baseball legend Derek Jeter.
