Al D'Isernia

Partner

"I help insurers and their insureds resolve high-stakes coverage and liability disputes with strategies informed by years on both sides of the claim."

Overview

Biography

Al represents insurers, reinsurers, and commercial clients in complex coverage, extra-contractual, and liability disputes in state and federal courts and in arbitration. He focuses his practice on insurance coverage and regulation and torts and products liability defense, handling matters from pre-suit strategy through trial and appeal.

Al’s coverage work spans casualty and property lines, including primary and excess general liability, bad faith, latent injury, advertising injury, first-party property, professional liability, and workers’ compensation. He has secured favorable outcomes on dispositive motions and appeals involving aggregate limits, number-of-occurrences questions, and subrogation, often in matters involving catastrophic construction losses and multimillion-dollar product claims. He also litigates direct actions involving employment, intellectual property, privacy, construction, and products liability, and represents contractors, architects, and engineers in construction-related disputes.

Previously, Al served as senior counsel for a global insurance and reinsurance company, advising on litigation, arbitration, and risk management matters while working closely with leadership and providing guidance to claims and underwriting teams.
