Overview

Biography

Dan uses his broad engineering background to help clients with patent issues related to a wide range of technologies, such as sensors, signal processing, computer software and networking, and medical devices. He handles all aspects of patent prosecution, from drafting through appeals. Dan also advises companies on other intellectual property matters that include IP protection and concerns related to competitors’ IP. He prepares infringement, noninfringement, validity, and nonvalidity opinions. Additionally, Dan has substantial patent litigation experience.

Dan devotes a large portion of his practice to prosecuting software patents before the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He leverages the most favorable cases for patent applicants to overcome Section 101 rejections, resulting in issued patents for clients.

In his previous career, Dan was a field engineer for the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority, working on alternative energy and water and wastewater transmission and treatment projects.
