Biography

Karina advises clients across the firm’s Corporate and Trusts & Estates Practice Areas and the Tax Credits Team, delivering integrated legal solutions tailored to the complex needs of privately held businesses, their owners, and affiliated entities. Her corporate practice spans a wide range of transactional and governance matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, and the ongoing representation of companies backed by private equity as well as closely held enterprises. She also regularly assists real estate development clients in the structuring and execution of financing transactions critical to the success of their projects.

Complementing her corporate work, Karina provides strategic counsel on estate planning and administration, with a focus on business succession and generational wealth transfer. Her planning often intersects with corporate structures, allowing for a seamless integration of business and personal objectives tailored to each client’s unique dynamics.

Karina’s tax credits practice encompasses the formation and qualification of tax-exempt organizations, including public charities, private foundations, and other mission-driven entities. She also advises on various aspects of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) transactions, including entity formation, securing requisite governmental consents, and navigating the regulatory landscape to facilitate the advancement of affordable housing initiatives.
