Overview

Biography

Mark has experience representing individuals and business entities in a wide range of tax matters, including joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, divestitures, executive-compensation arrangements, tax-driven real estate transactions, domestic and cross-border financings, and reorganizations.

Mark focuses his practice on the state and local tax consequences of mergers and acquisitions, advising clients through all phases of the transaction lifecycle. He regularly counsels businesses on a range of multistate tax issues arising from operating across multiple jurisdictions, including nexus-related considerations, state tax filing obligations, and the classification of products and services for sales tax purposes—particularly in the areas of SaaS and information technology. Mark’s experience also extends to matters involving unclaimed property and escheatment, multistate employment tax withholding, and transfer tax compliance. He supports companies across a wide range of industries, helping them navigate complex regulatory and compliance challenges.

Mark previously worked as an associate at the Big 4 accounting firm KPMG, where he gained experience guiding clients through mergers and acquisitions.

In addition to his practice, Mark serves on the Rochester office Opportunity, Inclusion & Belonging Leadership Team.
