Overview

Biography

A former patent examiner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Robert has extensive experience examining patent applications related to electrochemistry, including fuel cells and batteries, and drafting and prosecuting domestic and international patent applications in the electrochemical, biological, and mechanical arts. Robert often utilizes examiner interviews, including video conferences, to achieve positive results for clients. 

Robert’s degree in chemical and biomolecular engineering gives him the ability to understand a wide array of technologies. He has drafted and prosecuted applications in the following industries: clean technologies, organic chemistry, nanotechnology, medical devices, construction technologies, and business methods and software, including mobile applications.

In addition to patent preparation and prosecution, Robert provides technical and patent-specific support for services such as patentability and freedom-to-operate searches, opinions, and litigation. He has experience working with experts in the preparation of their technical opinions in intellectual property cases.

Robert's background allows him to quickly grasp clients’ inventive concepts and craft patent claims that both align with their business objectives and maximize the scope of protection that will likely be allowed by the USPTO.
