Overview

Biography

Thais represents clients in a wide range of environmental, regulatory, and energy matters. She has experience with federal and state laws pertaining to chemical and petroleum bulk storage, air, hazardous waste remediation, and solid waste, as well as energy infrastructure siting matters and environmental permitting. Thais has represented clients in enforcement matters brought by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and assisted on proceedings before state and federal courts regarding the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA).

Experience

Representative Experience

  • Represented multiple clients on the siting of a major transmission line, including federal, state, and local permitting requirements.
  • Negotiated an enforcement proceeding before the NYSDEC regarding chemical bulk storage regulations.
  • Successfully assisted a client on a SEQRA matter before state court.
  • Advised a client on the transfer of ownership for an electric generator facility.
  • Advised a client on the decommissioning of an energy facility in New York State.
