Drawing on more than 34 years of trial practice, Joe now serves as of counsel, advising clients and members of the firm on risk assessment and avoidance, case evaluation and strategy, alternative dispute resolution, and AI integration. As an active member of the firm’s AI Committee, Joe contributes his experience to the firm’s approach to effective and responsible AI use.
Over the course of his career—including 17 years as a Barclay Damon partner—Joe represented clients in federal and state courts in sophisticated, high-stakes cases across the country. His trial practice included intellectual property and trade secret litigation, unfair competition suits, technology license and software development disputes, and private-company shareholder disputes.
Previously, Joe was co-chair of the firm’s Commercial Litigation & Complex Trials Practice Area, applying his experience and trial-level perspective to strengthen the group’s strategic approach to complex disputes and to the training and mentoring of associates.
As a co-founder of Barclay Damon’s Boston office, Joe played an integral role in establishing the firm’s presence in the New England market and allowing the firm to provide additional services to new and existing clients.
