Women's Forum

Barclay Damon is dedicated to enhancing diversity and inclusion as an essential element of its firm culture and business initiatives. As part of this commitment, the Women’s Forum was established to create an environment that fosters meaningful interaction and mentoring opportunities for our women attorneys to help them develop successful strategies regarding leadership, client, and professional development; marketing; and work-life balance. It is a forum for sharing information, experiences, and solutions in an inclusive setting.

Our yearly internal event allows our women attorneys to come together to discuss and create actionable strategies that not only help them develop their own unique skillsets and career potentials but bring about positive changes in the workplace. These changes have included the implementation of the firm’s alternative work-arrangement policy for associates, which was a direct result of discussions held during a Women’s Forum internal event.

The Women’s Forum also recognizes the importance of professional women supporting each other outside the office. To promote this initiative, we hold several all-women networking events each year that allow our attorneys to connect with clients and guests across a range of industries and professions. Each office acts as a host to an annual networking event that the hosting office’s women attorneys plan and execute. The events feature unique local venues, such as the Perkins Mansion in Rochester, 500 Seneca and Hotel Henry in Buffalo, the Barclay Damon Tower Rooftop Terrace in Syracuse, and Franklin Plaza in Albany.

We are proud to actively support the growth and success of our women attorneys through our Women’s Forum, reinforcing the firm’s bedrock commitment to maintain an environment where everyone has equitable access to resources and opportunities to attain their greatest potential.
