NYS Energy Storage Roadmap Technical Conferences Announced

On July 17, 2018, the NYS Public Service Commission (PSC) issued a notice soliciting comments announcing the public comment period and technical conferences for the NYS Energy Storage Roadmap. More information on the NY Energy Storage Roadmap can be found in the Law360 articles "Growing Opportunities in NY's Energy Storage Industry" and "A Path to NY's Energy Storage Goal."

Initial comments will be accepted on the roadmap until September 10, 2018, and reply comments will be accepted until September 24, 2018. Public comments can be submitted by registered parties through the Department of Public Service's (NYDPS) Document and Matter Management System (DMM); interested parties can register at this link or via email to secretary@dps.ny.gov. Comments can also be mailed to Kathleen H. Burgess, Secretary, Three Empire Plaza, Albany, New York 12223.

In collaboration with the NYS Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), the NYDPS will hold three technical conferences to discuss the roadmap and to solicit comments. The agenda will be the same for all three conferences, which will consist of NYDPS and NYSERDA presentations and opportunities for attendees to ask questions on the roadmap.

The dates, times, and locations of the conferences are as follows:

  • July 31, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the NYDPS's New York City Office at 90 Church Street in the fourth floor boardroom.
  • August 7, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at SUNY Farmingdale, located at 2350 Broadhollow Road in Farmingdale in the Campus Center Ballroom A.
  • August 21, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the NYDPS's Albany office at 3 Empire State Plaza in the 19th floor boardroom.
