Penny Mason Interviews Hon. James G. Kenefick Jr. for NHCBA Legends of the Bar Series

Penny Mason, of counsel, interviewed Hon. James G. Kenefick Jr., judge trial referee for the New Haven Judicial District Superior Court, as part of the New Haven County Bar Association (NHCBA) Legends of the Bar series.

Penny and Judge Kenefick discussed how he became interested in becoming a lawyer, his career path and practice history, his experience on the bench, and his work as a judge trial referee and the responsibility that comes along with it. They also discussed Judge Kenefick’s personal life, noting that one of his children is a lawyer and works in an office just a few doors down from him in the courthouse.

When asked about the value of a NHCBA membership, Judge Kenefick highlighted it as a great way to get involved and as a useful learning tool. He also provided advice he’d give to young lawyers who are just starting their career.
