Ron Oakes, associate, has been appointed co-chair of the New York State Bar Association Health Law Section’s E-Health and Information Systems Committee. He takes over the role from Nathan Prystowsky, assistant general counsel at Johnson & Johnson MedTech. Ron joins co-chairs Andria Adigwe, an associate at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC, and Daniel Meier, a partner at Benesch Friedlander Coplan & Aronoff LLP.
The E-Health and Information Systems Committee was designed to focus on developing laws, regulations, and standards in the growing health information technology (HIT) field. It additionally covers e-health developments, such as telehealth and telemedicine; electronic health records (EHR); the New York eHealth Collaborative and regional health information organizations (RHIOs); HIPAA and HITECH; and provider integration.
