Barclay Damon announces that Cassondra Koven has joined the firm as an associate in its Trusts & Estates and Commercial Litigation & Complex Trials Practice Areas, based in the firm’s Buffalo office.
Koven represents businesses, fiduciaries, and individuals in complex disputes involving commercial, financial, and estate-related matters. Before joining Barclay Damon, she served as a general attorney with the Internal Revenue Service Office of Chief Counsel and as a trial attorney with the US Department of Justice Tax Division, where she handled sophisticated litigation in federal courts and the United States Tax Court.
Drawing on her federal government experience, Koven manages all phases of litigation, including case development, discovery, dispositive motion practice, trial preparation, and resolution. Her experience includes matters involving fraud allegations, bankruptcy proceedings, collection disputes, estate-related issues, asset recovery efforts, fiduciary-related matters, and controversies involving high-net-worth taxpayers.
