Barclay Damon Welcomes Back Richard Gioia

February 24, 2020 — Barclay Damon announces Richard Gioia, of counsel, has rejoined the firm in a non-practicing role focusing on business development activities. A former associate at Damon Morey, one of the two firms that combined to form Barclay Damon, Gioia is a member of the Corporate Practice Area and will be available at the firm’s Buffalo office.

As the founder and CEO of private investment firm, Gioia Capital, LLC, Gioia identifies middle-market businesses in Upstate New York in need of succession plans, leads investments, and collaborates with stakeholders to develop meaningful value-creation strategies following the investments. He is also the founder and former managing partner of private investment firm Lorraine Capital, LLC.

“I was always thankful for the experience I had working at one of Barclay Damon’s predecessor firms, and I am excited to cultivate this partnership between Gioia Capital and Barclay Damon,” Gioia said. “I believe this role will allow me to uniquely serve firm clients, especially those in Upstate New York, by utilizing my corporate experience and contacts to help them find creative solutions to their business issues.”
