Mauricio Cuellar Joins Barclay Damon

Barclay Damon announces Mauricio Cuellar, counsel, has joined Barclay Damon’s Real Estate and Financial Institutions & Lending Practice Areas. His primary office is Rochester.

Cuellar brings significant experience representing private lenders, institutional investors, and developers in complex real estate transactions nationwide. His practice spans acquisitions, sales, leasing, and financing across office, retail, mixed-use, and multi-family properties. Cuellar has extensive experience negotiating and drafting transactional documents, including joint venture agreements, loan agreements, mortgages, and tenant-related instruments. His deep due diligence background—including title, survey, zoning, and environmental review—helps clients mitigate risk and navigate complex deals with confidence.

Before joining Barclay Damon, Cuellar practiced at several national law firms, advising institutional lenders on the origination and securitization of CMBS loans, construction financing for major developments, and syndicated financing arrangements. He also has experience representing developers in land use and zoning matters.
