Gust serves as Barclay Damon’s International Practice Area co-chair and co-team leader of its Canada-US Cross-Border Team, handling numerous Canadian inbound cross-border transactions and working with Canadian companies expanding into the United States and Europe. He regularly represents publicly traded and privately held clients in corporate transactions throughout the United States, Europe, and East Asia, including domestic and international mergers and acquisitions for companies involved in the design and manufacture of medical products, transactional media, sensors, cranes and hoists, seismic dampers, and other goods.

  • Represented Graphic Controls in the purchase of medical-products business Integral Process SAS in Paris, France.
  • Represented Graphic Controls in the purchase of medical-products business Nessler Medizintechnik GmbH in Innsbruck, Austria.

  • Represented sensor designer and manufacturer PCB Piezotronics, a designer in its sale to MTS Systems Corporation in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, for $580 million.
  • Represented PCB Piezotronics in the purchase of sensors-distribution businesses Dalimar Instrument, ULC in Quebec, Canada.
  • Represented Columbus McKinnon Corporation in the purchase of power and motion-control products business Magnetek, Inc. in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
  • Represented Columbus McKinnon Corporation in the sale of a tire-shredding division to Schutte-Buffalo Hammermill, LLC in Buffalo, New York.
  • Represented Associated Healthcare Systems, Inc. in its sale to Teijin Pharma, in Tokyo, Japan.
  • Represented a purchaser in its attempted multi-million-euro acquisition of the stock of Irish and Costa Rican medical device manufacturers.
  • Represented a purchaser in its multi-million acquisition of the business assets of a California designer and manufacturer of dynamic instrumentation for vibration, shock, and pressure measurements.
